In the Salzinnes Antiphonal, we have a section of hymns for Palm Sunday. These start on Folio 107v On the following page we have the Magnum Salutis Gaudium, Cantus Database link. This is an ancient Processional hymn for Palm Sunday, it is attributed to St. Gregory and is older than the Roman Processional Hymn Gloria Laus. In the Salzinnes Antiphonal the complete hymn is used for Vespers, From Verse 8, Ramos virentes is used for Lauds. The Magnum Salutis Gaudium is also used on the Feast of St. Mary Magdalen for Vespers or Lauds in some manuscripts. This hymn can also be found in this XIII c. Graduale from the Vatican library. This is set to a different melody. The Ambrosian 1935 Antiphonale Missarum juxta ritum Sanctae Ecclesiae has this hymn as the processional hymn for Palm Sunday, set to a third melody see below.
